Sandy beach days
Tramore Beach
Only a 15 minutes’ drive from the hotel. This vast and spacious sandy beach stretches 5km along Waterford’s Atlantic coast. The popular town of Tramore is met at the eastern end of the bay, with promenade and various amusements. This beach is also quite popular with surfers catching some of the Atlantic swells. Fishing is also popular around the mouth of the lagoon, which provides the best catches including bass and flounder.

Waterford Greenway
The Greenway is 46km long and provides a path along the route of an old railway line from Dungarvan to Waterford. You can choose to walk or cycle the entire route or simply pick a stage. If you are interested in history, scenery, railways and bridges; the Greenway is a no-brainer.
Viking Hotel’s ‘Greenway Hub’ has bike racks so that bikes can be secured with our guests own locks.

Facilities include a water park, a 4 lane 25 metre pool, wave machine, 2 flume slides, fully equipped gym and a fitness studio. Serving the local community and many visitors for over 20 years!
