Emergency Information
Fire and Safety Information
The safety of our guests is of immense importance to us. Please take a few moments to
familiarise yourself with the emergency procedure as outlined below:
Fire Alarm Test:
The fire alarms will be sounded at 11.00 am every Monday in order to test the hotel’s fire
system. Our hotel conducts periodic fire drills for the safety of employees and guests alike.
Should a fire drill be scheduled during your stay, you will be informed of this at check – in.
On these occasions only, no action is required.
At all other times when the fire alarm sounds continuously, please evacuate your
room immediately via your nearest fire exit.
In Case of Fire:
Do not open the windows. In all rooms you will find a fire evacuation plan posted on the
back of the entrance door. Please familiarise your self with the exact location of your room as well as the way to the nearest fire exit.
Our hotel is equipped with smoke detectors and fire extinguishers for your safety. Should you detect a fire, please activate the nearest break glass unit and contact reception by
dialing “0” then move immediately to the nearest exit.
Should the fire alarm sound, please exercise care before leaving the guest room door to see if it is hot to the touch. If it is, do not open it and immediately contact reception by dialing “0”. When leaving the room in case of emergency, please do so quickly and calmly and do not carry belongings or property likely to slow you down or cause obstruction to others.
Do Not Use the Lift. Please use the nearest fire escape stairs.
Please proceed to the hotel’s fire assembly point which is located outside in the car park.
Identify yourself to the member of staff on duty giving your name and room number.
Do Not Re-Enter the building until a member of staff or a Fire Marshall confirms that it is
safe to do so.
Disabled guests who feel that they may need assistance in the unlikely event of an
emergency should notify reception of their need when they check in. We have also placed a “Hard of Hearing” door hanger on your bedroom door. If this is displayed, your room will be checked on by a member of staff or Fire Marshall to ensure you have safely evacuated.

Hotel and Guest Security
Access
The hotel reception is open 24 hours a day. However, for security reasons the main doors are locked after midnight. If you think you will be out after closing time please advise reception and we will explain how to gain access.
Allergies
If you suffer from any allergies, please in form the manager on duty so that we can make
any necessary arrangements on your behalf to assist in the comfort of your stay.
Car Park
The hotel does not accept liability for any vehicles left in the hotel car park. Please ensure
that you do not leave any valuables in your car. Cars are parked at their owner’s risk.

We have CCTV in operation in this hotel for the safety of our guests and staff members.
Childcare
The comfort, safety and security of all our guests is a primary concern. Please do not leave minors (Under the age of 16) unattended in the hotel as the responsibility for our “junior” guests lie with the parents and guardians. If you have a young guest with you, your cooperation is requested in ensuring that they are supervised and under your control at all
times.
Doors & Windows
Please be aware of all the doors and windows in your guest room. Although each of them is
fitted with a double point safety locking mechanism, they all have the capacity to be opened fully. If you have young children staying with you, please ensure that the windows and doors are kept closed, or that supervision in exercised while windows and doors are open.
Room Security
For your personal security, there is a spy hole on the entrance door to your room. The doors are also fitted with a double locking mechanism and a security latch.

Reginald’s Tower
Reginald’s Tower is Waterford’s best known landmark and is the oldest civic urban structure in Ireland. It was erected by and takes its name from Reginal Maclvor, Danish Govener of Waterford in 1003 A.D. It has been used as a fortress, a prison, a military stores depot, a mint, and an air raid shelter. Presently, it houses the City’s civic and maritime museum.
Bishop’s Palace
The Bishop’s Palace charts the history of Waterford from 1700 to 1970 and gives a wonderful insight into the history of what was up to the 1750s, Ireland’s second city. Waterford city boasts the finest collection of 18th century architecture of any city in Ireland outside of Dublin and its great legacy from the period is its elegant
silverware and, of course, fine glassmaking. Visitors to the Bishop’s Palace will see the oldest piece of Waterford Crystal in the world – a decanter made in the 1780’s
Medieval Museum
Opened since 2012, this new museum traces the city’s rich medieval past and covers all the steamy and stinky details of local life until 1700. It’s located in the renovated
12th century Undercrofts. The star attraction is the magnificent 1372 4m-long Great Charter Roll which shows portraits of five medieval kings of England.

Mount Congreve Gardens
Words can only convey a small impression of what Mount Congreve has to offer. To
get a full appreciation of what has been achieved here in such a short time by Mr
Ambrose Congreve, one has to visit the garden as the seasons unfold. The gardens at Mount Congreve, Waterford, consist of around seventy acres of
intensively planted woodland garden and a four acre walled garden. The owner, the late Mr Ambrose Congreve, was inspired by Mr Lionel de Rothschild’s exceptional garden at Exbury in Hampshire, England. It was here that his interest in gardening was nurtured and he became infected with a passion and enthusiasm for plants such as Rhododendrons, Magnolias, Camellias and indeed many other floras from every continent in the world.

Theatre Royal Waterford

Waterford Municipal Art Gallery
Built in the early 19th century, this late Victorian church built in gothic revival style
was originally home to the Waterford Methodists until 1973. It has now been adapted
for use as the Municipal Art Gallery. The building provides a permanent home for the
Municipal Art Collection and houses a fascinating collection of works, including pieces
from renowned Irish artists such as Jack B Yeats, Charles Lamb and Louis Le Brocquy.

Garter Lane Arts Centre

Waterford & Tramore Racecourse
Tramore Races have been providing exciting entertainment for racing fans in South East Ireland for more than 200 years. The 80 acre venue now boasts totally up-graded

Copper Coast Geopark
Waterford’s Copper Coast comprises some 25 kilometres of spectacular coastline,
beaches and coves and is enclosed by rocky headlands from Tramore to Dungarvan.

Lismore Heritage Town
Lismore is one of the most historic towns in Waterford. The name Lismore comes from
two words, Lis meaning Fort and Mor meaning big. Its meaning is derived from the
round hill or great Irish fort to the east of the town. The two chief points of interest
in Lismore are St.Carthages Cathedral and Lismore Castle. Lismore Heritage Centre
has an award winning audio visual display of Lismore history which takes you on an
enthralling journey through time, starting with the arrival of St. Carthage in 636 and
bringing you right up to the present.

Waterford & Suir Valley Railway
Experience the beauty of the Suir Valley from a period carriage as you take in the
panoramic views of the river,and rolling farmland of Waterford and across the river
to County Kilkenny. The track runs mostly along the picturesque banks of the River
Suir offering views of the world famous Mount Congreve Gardens. This is an area
rich in history and only accessible by train.
The rolling stock includes a restored Simplex Locomotive, which had an arduous
working life in the peat industry in the North of England and Scotland. It was also
used in excavating the Channel Tunnel. It now pulls two partially open carriages
travelling at 15km per hour and can accommodate up to 90 passengers. The journey
time is approximately 50 minutes.
